π About π
The initial reason I had for making this project was because I wanted to make a simple, easy-to-understand game but with a 'polished' feel to it. Starfall was mostly an opportunity for me to learn how to better use animations, lights, and other effects in Godot.
Overall, the game turned out pretty well, though there are definitely some things that can be improved. May or may not have minor QoL updates in the future!

nice update!
I really like the atmosphere here, cute and tranquil, the parallax scrolling clouds were a nice touch, and the animation on the main character was quite adorable.
If I were to nitpick, the art for the main character noticeably stands out from the other art, I think it's the outline. That being said - it's really a nitpick, and I for sure couldn't do any better.
This can definitely be expanded upon in my opinion - if you find the time and motivation and no other projects are more interesting at the moment, of course. :) As the other commenter mentioned, a dash could be fun and engaging, maybe power-ups? Maybe even a progression through waves with different things to pick up, including hazards? Although the latter could be bad for the tranquil and cute atmosphere here, too.
Nice work :)
Thank you for the feedback and ideas!
The outline is definitely something I can experiment with removing/editing. Originally, I wasn't sure if the character would stand out enough, but I think the lighting has solved that problem so the outline might not be needed. Will take a look!
The dash ability is also something I can/know how to add, so I'll code it in sometime. I'll see what I can tweak to make the game more engaging, and maybe learn how to create the save-load mechanics for some long-term rewards/achievements to unlock.
Super glad you like the game :D
nice!
love the character animations and the star pickup animation you should add a dash (if youβre still working on it)
Thanks! If I get the time, small updates like adding dash abilities, extra ways to earn points, etc. will definitely be on my to-do list. π
